creating formula to add many non-adjacent cells
I need to sum/add many (~120) non adjacent cells. They are all in a single column. When I create a formula and start clicking in the cells to include, I keep being returned to the bottom of the sheet where the formula is calculated. Then I have to scroll back up to the top of the sheet to access the next cell I want to include in the formula. This makes for too much scrolling. Is there another way to select all the cells and avoid the back and forth?

Nicole,
Create a check box columns (things you want in your sum)
Use the SUMIF formula to get the values based on whether the box is checked or not.
SUMIF(criteria_range, criteria_value, sum_range)
The criteria_value for a checked check box is 1.
Hope this helps.

Craig,
That was the perfect solution. I was unfamiliar with how to use check box columns, so it was very valuable.
Thanks for the help!
