Send Request for Approval Again
Hi:
I have a column set up that an instructional designer changes as the status of a project changes, and I have another column that indicates the status of approval.
When the ID changes the status of the development to "In Review", a trigger sends the Program Chair a request for approval. If approved, the ID can change the status of the project to "Completed". (The Approval Status is automatically changed to "Approved".)
However, the Program Chair clicks "Not Approved" in the request, the ID is notified automatically, and the Approval Status is automatically changed to "Not Approved".
All works fine.
However, I need to trigger the request for approval again, once the ID makes the changes recommended by the Program Chair (via Comments). A work around would be to change the development status to "On Track", save, then change it again to "In Review", forcing the trigger to send the request for approval.
Is this the best way to do this? It's a little sloppy---and somewhat hard to explain to an ID that is an external vendor.

That sounds like the best way to do it. You could also try adding another status all together for post rejection scenarios...or even creating a new column with a symbol to populate and indicate which requests have been rejected at some point.
