Report Developing - Removing "Header" task
Hello all,
I am trying to see if there is a way to remove those "header" tasks from reports. I ask this because it captures dates from the sub tasks and therefore becomes duplicative in a report. I have colored these lines so its easy to overlook them now but it would be lovely to have a way to remove them completely.
For example:
I don't want "header task" inputting itself into the reports. Any ideas?
Thanks.

Tara,
If I understand you correctly, you are building your Report on dates and the Report does not know the difference between a parent and a child.
You could make a column that will know the different
=IF(COUNT(CHILDREN()) = 0, 1, 0)
and then add that to your report (children / tasks are = 1 in the example)

There is a rumors of a change to Reports that may help here but it isn't on the roadmap yet.

Thanks for the advice, Craig!

Hi Tara-- Craig is correct, we are currently working on some improvements to the Reporting feature. He's provided a great workaround in the meantime, but I'll make sure your feedback on this gets to our Development team. Thanks for sharing your input!

Is there any improvement on the reporting by now to remove parent rows? I've tried adding a column from my sheet "IsTask" to the report and selecting based on a value of 1, but the report builder returns nothing.

Hello, I was having similar issue. My solution was, since the child tasks general have multiple assigned users, the headers would not have one at all, in which case, when designing your report, you can simply put under "who" exclude blank.
This way the report will not return any headers as they have no assignee, hope this helps!
