Here's what I want to be able to do for resource management. Is there a workaround to accomplish this?

Assign individual resources (they are not licensed users) to a team\group. Assigning tasks to multiple individuals does not work for me.
Each individual has default work hours. E.g. 8 hrs. It can be modified if needed
Individual availability hours roll-up to available hours at the team level.
The groups need to be available to at the workspace level. So, it can be used in all the sheets in the workspace. The groups should be available to users with edit permissions in the workspace.
At a sheet level, we should be able to assign tasks to a group.
At a sheet level, we should be able to assign a % of the team's available hours to the task. The default could be 100%.
If the team's available numbers of hours is less than the task duration, the task is flagged for resource contention.

Hello,

There currently isn't a work around for the following:

Assigning a group to a task via the contact list column
Defining the length of day for individual resources (bullet points 3, 6, & 7 are directly related to this functionality)

When you have a moment, submit a Product Enhancement Request to let our Product team know that you'd like to have these functionalities in Smartsheet.

In regard to bullet point 4, groups can be shared to a workspace, but they can only be edited by Group Admins. If I've misunderstood you, please elaborate on what it is you would like to accomplish.
