Problems with formula AVGW

The formula AVGW is not working anymore with the column duration.

 

I mean when we write: AVGW(CHILDREN([% Planned]8), CHILDREN(Duration8)) and duration is in days 1d, 2d, etc... the formula doesn't count the column duration as a number.

 

This starts after the Smartsheet update!

Try putting this around your formula:

 

=IFERROR(all your old formula goes here minus the = sign, "error that used to work")

But is this not a problem related to Smartsheet? Because it doesn't make sense, if a copy the duration value in a "text/number" column my formula works...

Certainly sounds like a problem with Smartsheet.

They changed things and missed somethign in testing, it appears.

I know.. the problem is this formula we use in MANY MANY smartsheets here.

 

The complete formula is:

=IF(COUNT(CHILDREN([% Planned]6)) > 0, ROUND(AVGW(CHILDREN([% Planned]6), CHILDREN(Duration6)), 2), IF(Duration6 = 0, IF([End Date]6 < TODAY(), 1, 0), ROUND(IF([Days until today]6 / Duration6 > 1, 1, IF([Days until today]6 / Duration6 < 0, 0, [Days until today]6 / Duration6)), 2)))

 

And the problem appears when the line has children... 

 

I don't know how to fix this!

It appears that the DURATION column is not accepted in many formulas.

 

If you can wait, Smartsheet is just getting their coffee's at work. Maybe they have a quick fix.

I've already got a work around, I think, but I don't want to implement it if I don't have too.

Not unless Smartsheet will pay me for the lost time.

Hi Caroline! This is somethign our Development team is looking into right now--it does appear to be a bug. Thanks for bringing this to our attention, I'll update this thread when I have more information about resolution.
