Access Security for Forms

Does anyone know if there's a way to limit form access to a specific person or group of people. Or, is there something in the works at Smartsheet to address this? Looks like there is currently two options.

I use Smartsheet forms to submit project tasks (not too confidential) and expense requests (confidential). I can limit the actual sheets receiving the data to individuals or groups, but I also want to limit who is allowed to submit data to these sheets. As it is, if the URL is passed along to anyone with a Smartsheet account, they'll be able to submit data.

Your only option is to limit who has the URL.

The premium add-on, Dynamic View would work for you use case.

Hi Andrée,

Thanks for the suggestion. Looks like we would need to pay for the premium add-on in order to dive in and test the solution. If it becomes a problem where the form URL is shared with the wrong people, we may take that route to look for a fix.

Hi Aaron,

I had the same issue, but saw no solutions posted here on the Community site.

Here’s what I did.

1. Created a copy of our existing intake form, which no one had the link for.

2. Disabled the original intake form.

3. Created a dashboard.

4. Got the embed code for the newly created intake form.

5. Embedded the form on the new dashboard.

Now we can manage permissions to the dashboard to just those people who should be entering requests.
