Access permissions problem

Over the past couple months there have been a few occasions where we have seen users with permissions to access (view) a resource calling to say they were no longer able to access and given an error: "You don't have access to this item"

To correct the problem: I tried deleting their name from the share list. Wouldn't delete. Tried deleting, saving, then reopening. Still wouldn't delete. What did work, is modifying their permissions to editor, saving, then immediately modifying them back to viewer permission, and saving.

I suspect the issue is occurring when a group with permissions to access the resource is removed from sharing and the affected user was included in that group, but also has access to the shared resource though individual permissions or other group.

Anyone else have a similar experience?
