Approval Request after a modification

We are working with an approval workflow. 

In this approval flow the user has the possibility to change important things in the approval request.

Problem: approval request is already sent

We solved this by generating a new approval request when something in the request has changed. 

Problem: the persons who gets the approval request gets more than one request when something is changed. 

How can we adapt this that the person can just open the most recent approval request? He will get more than one e-mail, but I just want that he can open just one approval request, the most recent..

Hi Julie,

I'm not sure, but I think that it doesn't matter which one of the requests is opened because it will show the current information. Make sense?
