How to display: "A must be done before B starts, but B doesn't start immediately after A"
Hello community,
I would like to use the following dependency in a project plan:
"A must be done before B starts, but B doesn't start immediately after A".
There is a predecessor relationship between A and B, so that B can be defined as the predecessor for A. The standard at Smartsheet now works in such a way that the starting time for the following work package B begins directly after A. However, B has a starting time that does not directly follow A, but e.g. at a defined point in time X. This point in time X is also not to be numbered „exactly 2 weeks after A", but simply a point in time X.
Can this relationship be illustrated in Smartsheet? If I try to enter these (expected) fixed values, I will lose the previous relationship, which should still exist.
Best regards and many thanks,
Jonas

Unfortunately you can only show lead or lag time as actual values. You would have to enter an actual number to show that Task B does not start immediately after Task A is finished. You could then include a Notes column that specifies the 2 weeks (or whatever time you entered) is simply a placeholder.
Your request is a good idea though. Feel free to Submit a Product Enhancement Request.
