How do I remove erronous contacts from the All Contacts repository?

I am the Admin on our company account. I have updated the User Management and My Smartsheet Contacts with the most accurate employee list. When I am assigning out or updating tasks, there are still erroneous and duplicate contacts in the All Contacts list. How do i remove them to avoid confusion?

  • Hello Jamie—it's possible that the contact column itself hasn't yet been updated in the sheet, or users are still shared on the sheet. The dropdown that appears when typing in a contact populates from four sources:

     

    1.  Your Smartsheet Contacts

    2. Other email addresses entered in the Contact type column on the sheet.

    3. Users shared to the sheet.

    4. Active users in Account > User Management

     

    I'd recommend unsharing users from the sheet, and manually removing their email addresses from any Contact type columns in your sheet.
