Conditional Linking?
Hello,
I was wondering if there was a way to unLink cells if a condition is met, i.e.
if Column1 is checked then UnLink all cells in all rows
this would be to lock values coming in once checked
or if that is NOT possible ...
If a value that comes into a linked cell (from another sheet source) is say $10 and I set up an automaton to copy that value to another row in the same sheet would the linking (in the original cell/row) copy too or just the $10 value at the time the automation runs?
Thank you in advance for your help!

Hi Jennifer,
Wouldn't it work with a lock row workflow for the first part?
Unfortunately, there isn't a way to copy a row to another location in the same sheet at the moment if you're not using a third-party add-on or the Smartsheet API.
Can you describe your process in more detail and maybe share the sheet(s)/copies of the sheet(s) or some screenshots? (Delete/replace any confidential/sensitive information before sharing) That would make it easier to help. (share too, andree@getdone.se)
I hope that helps!
Have a fantastic week!

Sure thing.
In the sheet (pic) below you can see I've got linked fields which are pulling in inventory totals by category from an Inventory Sheet. This sheet is then an "order" that is part of an approval request. When the user has put in their name (Requestor), Date, and checks Submit for Approval automation begins for Approval.
I ultimately want to Lock or UnLink the cells so that this total cannot change once submitted.
I've tried an Lock Rows workflow- but changes in the original sheet still pushed through to this Order post approval, not sure if that's b/c I'm an Admin in both sheets or what but the users themselves will also be Admins - so I need a method to lock this down post checking the Submit for Approval? box no matter what.
Any ideas are welcome.
thank you :)

Any further insight on my issue, above?

You would have to either copy the rows to another sheet or manually copy/paste special and select to paste the values only.

Thank you Paul, I will try this method.
