Populating external Reports with Smartsheet Data

Hi,

Is there any way that I can export my data from smartsheet so that it automatically populates/merges into a template that i have (word document)

    Hi @Andrée Starå ,

    Ive realised that using the export to excel and then mail merging works very well so i think i will go with that method.

    Hi Scott,

    There might be a way. Does it have to be in word?

    Can you describe your process in more detail and maybe share the sheet(s)/copies of the sheet(s) or some screenshots? (Delete/replace any confidential/sensitive information before sharing) That would make it easier to help. (share too, [email protected])

  • Hello! thanks for the insight; we are new Smartsheet users, and need to do the process that Scott Rae is describing, approx. daily.

    We will effectively use smartsheet to capture "commitment" records for contractors, summarize these into "PO reports" for each contractor, and then issue POs for each contractor.

    So - could we put in place a daily process of exporting to excel all smartsheet commitment records for all contractors; import/ mail merge (in a Word template? OR is there a better/ more automated application to use?) and uploading the generated PDFs to docusign?

    very interested to hear others' ideas on this. thank you...
