Can you populate secondary dropdown choices in a webform?
I'm building a webform to facilitate stock control and wonder if there is a way to cut down on the values in the drop down menus.
Is it possible to use a [PARENT] value in a primary dropdown that populates [CHILDREN] in a second dropdown list?
Rather than listing all the children in the first instance, if it is possible to so it this way, I'd be glad of help.
Thanks.

Hi Sean,
Unfortunately, it's not possible at the moment, but it's an excellent idea!
Please submit an Enhancement Request when you have a moment
As a possible workaround, you could use a third-party service like Google Forms or similar.
Would that work?
I hope that helps!
Be safe and have a fantastic week!

Depending on the number of "parent" selections, it may be an option to create a new column in the sheet for each of these and list out the appropriate "child" selections. Then in the form you can use help text to specify which "child" dropdowns to use.
That is assuming you wanted to keep it strictly in Smartsheet. I personally have used Google forms in the past and found that it integrated very easily with Smartsheet.

Thanks Paul.
Yes I've used Google forms in the past with Smartsheet. I hadn't thought of it this time as I'm hoping to build a fuller solution within the Smartsheet framework.
I can always mold the data once I have it in the Workspace.

I know that conditional logic has been a popular request for quite some time. Hopefully they get it on the roadmap sooner rather than later. It definitely wouldn't hurt to Submit a Product Enhancement Request when you are able.
The more we let them know what we want, the more likely they are to give it to us just to get us to leave them alone. 🤣
