How to configure direct message update requests in Microsoft Teams
Hi everyone,
I've integrated Smartsheet with MS Teams and have successfully sent notifications to a channel.
I would like to add Update Requests in Teams direct messages but am unsure how to get it to work, and am finding little useful information on how to do this in a step by step manner. All I see is direction to enable the integration, which is done.
Has anyone set up direct message update requests in teams? If so, what are the steps to do so?
Thanks!
Dan

Hello,
Update Requests will be sent as a direct message in Microsoft Teams using the email address you provide in the Update Request set up (assuming the email address is associated with a Teams account) —if the Automation permissions are set to least restrictive on the sheet and if the person receiving the update request has the Smartsheet bot set up.
If needed, more information on Automation permissions can be found in our help article: https://help.smartsheet.com/articles/2476586-control-who-is-notified-about-alerts-and-requests

Solved this. The necessary step that is not listed anywhere is to engage the Smartsheet bot in a chat within teams in the "chat" section, this prompts the bot to configure access to Smartsheet.

I'm trying to do the same thing and having no luck. How do you engagethe Smartsheet bot in a chat? I feel that our company has configured Smartsheet to work in Teams.
