Calculate total of each entry from multiple drop down selections.

I have a database which is filled by clients through form. In Area column, the clients will update the area from their house where the issue is located. It is multiple selection. Screenshot attached.

In my metrics sheet, I want to find out the total number for each entry. When I put 'countif' formula, it only considers single entry.

e.g for kitchen it will show only 2 instead of 4.

How do I resolve this?

Try something like this. Update so it matches your column names/ranges.

=COUNTIFS([Multi select]:[Multi select], HAS(@cell, Category@row))
