How to send alert without allowing access to sheet
Hi, I have a workflow where user #1 fills out a form, and one of the fields is a contact field where they enter the email for user #2. Then I have an alert that goes out to user #2.
However, when the alert goes out to user #2 it gives them access to the sheet and it also shows a log of activity on the sheet. I do not want user #2 to get anything except the notification content in the alert, and I do not want them to get access to the sheet.
Any help on how to do so would be much appreciated!

Hi @sschreiner
You could send the Alert and include the link to the Form with a description that they should click that link and not the other one.
As long as the user doesn't have access to the sheet, they won't see anything.
Make sense?
Would that work?
I hope that helps!
Be safe and have a fantastic day!

Sure, if it's not possible to hide the 'sheet updates', I can work around that.
But I can't allow user #2 to have access to the sheet and unless I'm mistaken, I think user #2 automatically received access because their email address was added into a contact field. Or maybe that is a setting I can adjust?

Hi,
The new functionality around sending alerts without sheet links launched a few days ago may be useful to you: https://www.smartsheet.com/content-center/product-news/release-notes/send-alerts-without-sheet-links

This partially works for me. I want to send the the info for the field updated just not the link the the Smartsheet itself. We need more middle ground solutions. Everything seems to be all or nothing.
