How do i track progress based on output?

I have a project that involves building fences in a number of locations. Each location has a budgeted lineal distance of fencing, and we will need to track progress of distance completed against budgeted. I can do it in an excel spreadsheet, but would like to have it as part of my smartsheet plan. Am new to smartsheet! Thanks!

Sounds like you're looking to incorporate some earned value management formulas. Maybe take a look here for some different calculations you could track. (https://www.pmi.org/learning/library/earned-value-management-early-warning-546)

Or if you mean something simple, you could have a column for lineal distance installed, a column for total distance required, and then a formula dividing installed by budgeted to get the current progress %.
