Metric Dashboard Widget - Create Values From Sheet

Hi,

Currently I'm playing with building a dynamic dashboard for our customers. To do this I'm pulling data from our master sheet into a metrics sheet. From there, Im building reports using the current user filter and can add charts successfully. However, I cannot add a metric widget from the sheet.

I would like to add a metric displaying a count of hours spent for all items relating to a user and show the value in a dashboard.

I've looked into Sheet Summary and I can't see how this could work without creating a Sheet Summary for each customer and then dymanically add to the dashboard too.

Have you looked at using the summary feature(s) in the reports?

I did look at that.

If I understand this right, in my sheet I will have to create a field in summary for each customer and each metric and create a forumla for each?

No. I meant in the reports themselves. There should be some summary options. It is a new feature that allows you to automatically evaluate the report and display a row with counts/sums/etc. based on the data within the report.

But I cant add this to a metric widget as its using reports.

Apologies. I thought you were putting the report on the dashboard in which case the summary field in the report would show your total and not need a metrics widget.
