Electronic signatures on Smartsheet Forms
I was wondering if there is a solution yet for electronic signatures to be captured within a Smartsheet form. We have visitors and contractors that are required to sign in and out when they enter and leave the building. We are trying to reduce the abundance of paperwork by making this form electronic; however, due to compliance, we need to capture a signature from the visitor signing in. These visitors will only have access to the form and will not be able to receive emails or access the form log itself. Are there options for capturing signatures right from the form itself?

Unfortunately, it's not possible at the moment, but it's an excellent idea!
Please submit an Enhancement Request when you have a moment.
As a possible workaround, you could maybe use a 3rd party service.

We are looking to migrate forms from Jotform to Smartsheet and without a signature field option on the forms themselves we are stuck still using Jotform.

Adobe and other products have a feature that permits a user to create an electronic/manual signature. Is there a patent on that feature or is it a basic thing of coding? How difficulty would it be to add this feature to the Smartsheet Column "Properties" dynamic or produce coding to achieve this aim?

We are already a SmartSheet customer, and so my Windows single sign-on signs me also in to SmartSheet, for one I use already.
In our case for signatures, replacing a paper form with about seven signature boxes, it would suffice if they typed in their signature as guided by text, but that SmartSheet will track who made that entry - and as long as we can demonstrate that the name in the box matches the verified ID, we're okay. Is that possible?

We built an integration between JotForm and Smartsheet so that we could have the advanced features of JotForm but with the data living in Smartsheet. Best of both words!

Have a play around with Zapier @YitzhakHandelZebra - you might find that for this use case it could get the work done. The challenge might be getting the image of the signature brought over to Smartsheet, if that's important to have.
