Locking Cells/Columns in a Report
Hi Smartsheet -
I recently created a series of report in smartsheets that pull specific pieces of information for departments so that managers can see their respective things and provide updates. However, unlike a regular sheet, where you can lock certain columns so as to prevent users from being able to edited field, we noticed you cannot do that in a report. Can you allow the locking feature in reports?

Ray,
See this article on locking rows/columns:

The locking needs to be done on the sheet, not the report.
If the user is an Admin on the underlying sheet, they will ignore the lock.
Hope that helps.

Ray,
What J. Craig Williams says is true. Make sure that the users on the original sheet are just editors, not admins. And then any lock you set on rows or columns in the original sheet will flow through to the reports.
