How to combine formulas in a single string

Hi I am trying to count data using cross sheet references and a countif formula. I have 13 different sheets, thus will need to have 13 different countif formulas in a single string. In Excel, + works, but does not appear to work here. How can I combine formulas in a single string?

The issue in the screenshot is in the second COUNTIFS. You have your closing curly bracket } misplaced after "@row}" when it should be at the end of the cross sheet reference "Range 1}"

Sure, "+" does not seem to work. I have 13 different sheets that are different sessions for an event. An employee can register for any of the 13 sessions, thus appear in any of the 13 sheets. I want to be able to count/capture the employee if they are in any of the 13 sheets.

So my thoughts are that using a countif (i actually used COUNTIFS, though not needed) formula to count how many times the employee appears in any of the 13 sheets (it should only be once).

Here is the formula with cross sheet references to only 2 sheets:

Ultimately, i'm trying to ensure I can capture if an employee is registered for any session, thus i would need to "check" for that employee's email address in each of the 13 sheets.
