Using forms and multiple rows
Hello,
I have created a form for my team to enter data to populate on a master sheet. We will have multiple part#'s and QTY's per request, however, I cannot find a way to have forms split those into separate rows.
Is there a way to have a form submission separate by line in the form to a separate row in the sheet?

There currently is not a way to do this easily. Making it happen gets extremely complex and bulky depending on how many different part #s you can have in a single entry.
My suggestion would be to have only a single part #/qty per form submission and have the form reload after submission so that users can quickly enter multiple forms in a short amount of time.

Hmm ok. Yeah i'm hoping to not have to have the team do separate submissions. We are typically getting the part#'s and qty's via email and hoping to do a quick cut and paste from email to form.
Would love to just have the team add directly to sheet, but since you cannot see live updates (without refreshing) having multiple people in the same sheet adding rows at the same time is not possible. Unless of course there is a way that I have not stumbled upon.

I hope you're well and safe!
I developed a solution using two forms (or the same form by using conditional logic) that can be used to submit the main information and then the other information on a new row for each submission after the first.
Would that work/help?
I hope that helps!
Be safe and have a fantastic week!

Hi Andree, I have also sent you an email. I also need a solution to add multiple rows for the same form if multiple months are chosen. The only changing variable in the row would be the month. Please let me know your thoughts.

This is the biggest complaint my team has with Smartsheet. I expect we will have to move to a new tool that gives our developers actual control over the system.
Anyone still dealing with this problem should consider a different tool, or if you're forced to use Smartsheet I recommend doing the work using visual basic and excel, then simply importing the data. You'll save yourself a few days worth of work trying to use the horribly implemented workflows.

Hello @Andree Stara,
I'm very interested in the following you posted a while back:
"I developed a solution using two forms (or the same form by using conditional logic) that can be used to submit the main information and then the other information on a new row for each submission after the first."
Could you kindly share the details on how to implement this solution?
Thanks!

Hi @Andrée Starå ,
I would also like to know how to create a form in which the user enters one date which would then apply to each new row for each submission after the first.
Thanks!
