Days Until Next Task Due
Hello,
I have a column of upcoming task due dates, and would like to compute the number of days until the next upcoming task. I have read about =MIN(COLLECT but can't seem to get the formula correct. I know the >TODAY function should be included in the formula somewhere as well.
Thanks!

Finish:Finish is the column of the Dates
Are you insert the formula in a Date column type, because if you insert it in text / number column type will not work

I hope you're well and safe!
Can you describe your process in more detail and maybe share the sheet(s)/copies of the sheet(s) or some screenshots? (Delete/replace any confidential/sensitive information before sharing) That would make it easier to help. (share too, andree@workbold.com)
I hope that helps!
Be safe and have a fantastic week!

@Andrée Starå here is the column I'm trying to extract data from. As you can see, some of the dates have already passed. I would just like to create another sheet that I can show the number of days until the next upcoming task is due - in this case, the nearest due date is 8/20/2021.

Hi @Danielle Ferrari
Hope you are fine, if you need the formula that collect the nearest due date from today you can use the following formula:
=MIN(COLLECT(Finish:Finish, Finish:Finish, @cell > TODAY()))
the following screenshot shows the result

@Bassam Khalil Thank you for helping. Could you please explain the part of the formula "@cell"? Which cell would I click for that?
-
@cell is a function in smartsheet used inside another functions to make the criteria check the cells of the columns one by one.

@Bassam Khalil did you manually type out Finish:Finish?
-
@Bassam Khalil this formula is producing the number 0, not showing the cell with the nearest date.
