Automation alerts are now NOT sending the email from the Sheet Owner - was there a change to this?

Previously if you had an automation setup on a sheet to send an alert, the alert would come from the Owner of the sheet. Today my alert appears to have come from possibly the last person to edit that sheet and NOT the sheet owner. Is this a change that anyone else is seeing?

I would really LOVE the ability to choose who the automation comes from but that is not a feature for smartsheet that I am aware of.

For Alerts that are triggered by a manual change to a cell value, the alert appears to come from the person who made the change. So the user who checks the box that triggers the alert is the "sender" of the alert.

For Alerts triggered by a change based on a formula value, or a time-based or scheduled alert, those will appear to come from the sheet owner.

We are using Data Shuttle to make the change/trigger. The alert previously came from the sheet owner but for some reason changed to be the person who did the data shuttle. Is this a new change?

I don't know, I haven't used Data Shuttle.

It's been at least a year or two since the sender changed to show the user who made the change.

In regard to the above thread, we have an automated approval process that when the last person inputs their approval, a notification is sent to a group of people. Will the email come from that last person? They do not have permissions to the sheet
