How can I set a date to be the same day of every month?
Hi, I need to make a Gantt view sheet for working on a single specific project that lasts for a month, and then starts all over again. This project will have the same tasks with the same deadlines every month, so I need to be able to set start and finish dates to be on the same day every month, so that it sort of "resets" when the next month begins.
I'm not sure if this is clear but I'm also not really sure how to elaborate further. I haven't been able to find any information about doing anything like this. Does anyone have any ideas on how I could make this happen?
Thanks in advance!

Assuming you are not using dependencies, you would use a formula like this...
=DATE(YEAR(TODAY()), MONTH(TODAY()), 15)
Just change the 15 to whatever day number you would need.

I had actually tried this but now I see what the issue was - I had dependencies enabled - whenever I was adding in the formula it was putting a comma in front, I guess that's why.
So there's no way I could do this while using dependencies? Aside from making it easier to read, that would effectively make the gantt view a bit pointless for this project.
Thanks!

You cannot use formulas in columns being referenced by the dependencies.
You can use a column with cell formulas in it as a start/end date column on a gantt chart though.

Hi @ConnorH
I hope you're well and safe!
To add to Paul's excellent advice/answer.
Another option might be to use the Record a Date Action in a Workflow.
Would that work/help?
I hope that helps!
Be safe and have a fantastic week!

@Andrée Starå Can you use the Automation to record dates in a dependency column? I haven't tried it before.

Unfortunately, it won't work. I was thinking of the % Complete column because I recently set that up for a client.
Sorry for the confusion and possible hope that I ignited! 😉
