Utilization Tool

Hello All,

Has anyone created a tool for tracking PM hours worked on projects, that can go to a backend sheet and thus create a utilization number per PM? I have myself and another person on our team, and want to show active projects and then be able to track hours worked weekly on those projects. Ideally using a form to input the data, but if not feasible, that would work too.

Hi Bruce,

Yes, we've done this and it works well! We created a solution for a customer that looks like this:

Hours sheet with a form that includes a project select dropdown (This dropdown is easy to maintain if you have Data Shuttle)
Project List including formulas that pull hours worked for each project from Hours sheet
Metrics Sheets with formulas to reference Hours sheet and calculate desired metrics
