Published sheets on dashboard can't be viewed by anyone shared to workspace?

Hello, I am trying to publish a sheet so anyone who views the dashboard can see and use the sheet. I am finding out that only people who have paid seats can view and interact with the published sheet. This is contradictory to my goal of having ANYONE who is shared to the workspace, even if they don't have a seat, view and interact with this sheet.

Am I missing something with this feature, or is this just how published sheets works?

Maybe I'm missing the point of publishing

shared, but no seat view

Thank you!

    Hi @Sarah_lee123

I hope you're well and safe!

Have you double-checked the Publish Settings (Access Control)?

Also, check your Security in Admin Settings.

    Did that work/help?

    I hope that helps!

Be safe and have a fantastic weekend!

    More info:

When publishing a Smartsheet item, you can use theย Access Controlย to limit access to the item.

    • Available to anyone with the link.
      • This will create a link that will allow anyone with access to view or edit the content on your sheet.
    • Only available to users in the ownerโ€™s account.
      • This will create a secure link that will require the user to log in to Smartsheet before being able to view the content on your sheet. Only users who have been added to your Smartsheet account will be able to view the content.
      • This does not include external users who have been shared as a collaborator to your Smartsheet item or to a workspace where your item may be stored. For more information, seeย Sharing.

Enterprise and up customers have an additionalย Access Controlย option:

    • Only available to users who are shared to the item.
      • This will create a secure link that will require the user to log in to Smartsheet before being able to view the content on your sheet. Only users who have been shared to the item will be able to access it, others will see an error page.

Users in your Smartsheet account include licensed or non-licensed users that would be listed as Active users in your System Administratorโ€™s Admin Center. For more information, seeย User Management.
