Identify unique dates when added to sheet
Howdy!
I have a sheet where my team is recording the date of shoutouts in a column and I am displaying the daily shout out count on a dashboard. Currently when a new date is added to the sheet I am manually adding that date to my summary sheet for the Dashboard and then using a countif formula to count the number of instances of that date. I am wondering if there is a formula/nested formula that would be able to automate adding the new date to the summary sheet.
Thanks,
SD

Are you opposed to using a report over a sheet? If you use a report that references your raw data from the "shout-out" sheet, then you can group by date in the report and summarize a count of rows within each group. You can then pull that report into your dashboard.
Happy to add screenshots if you need help. :)

I'm definitely not opposed to using a report. I haven't had a chance to use reports yet though so if you could add some screenshots that would be a big help!

Happy to! I have this report grouping by "Date of Shoutout" and summarizing (counting) by Sheet Name, but you can have it count by another column if preferred.
