Locked and hidden cells can be viewed in Card View. Need a FIX

I have data in some columns ( cells) that I have hidden and locked and when the workflow pushes the row to a team member and they can go into card view and open the item and the cell shows the data and is visible. Is there a fix for this ?

    Hi Phillip!

Hiding columns in a Grid isn't meant to keep the data hidden from users that have access to the sheet.

You could use a Report to limit which columns they see and Reports now support Card view just like Grids.

You could also potentially utilize Dynamic View for a sheet view with customizable access levels.

    Hope this helps!

    Hi @Phillip Roberts

I hope you're well and safe!

To add to Sam's excellent advice/answer.

If they shouldn't be able to see the data at all, it won't work with a Report because if they know where to look, they can see everything.

As Sam mentioned, the Premium App, Dynamic View, is one option.

    Two other options.

    • Premium App, WorkApps
    • I recently developed a (what I call), Dynamic View Light. It's quite advanced, but in short, it uses cross-sheet formulas and INDEX/MATCH and a specific structure and method, so it's only possible to show data that should be available.

Would any of those options work/help?

    I hope that helps!

Be safe, and have a fantastic week!
