I feel very limited with the way a chart looks once it's created. We're missing basic functions like setting axis limits, no current date line in gantt view on dash, no ability to set a target line, or lines to better separate columns in a bar chart. I believe these basic features would enhance our report sharing capabilities tremendously and make this site a more viable option when compared to Excel's graphing system.
Completely agree. There are some very minor things that make some of our charts unusable with smartsheet. Another needed feature for this would be the ability to move the % or $ label for a pie chart
Very much agree Maggie. For example, in a stacked bar chart, the labels are unusable because they go over the bar it's representing, which means it goes inside the bar directly above it
I am in the process of migrating from another tool to smartsheet. Having visually pleasing dashboards will help me migrate the team. Where are we with the enhancements to the dashboard.
Could we have some improvements made on the way graphs work and display within dashboards.

I'm finding this thread and reading thru it in 2025, after spending this week trying to figure out how to make my dashboard work for me, and mostly feeling defeated and frustrated.
I'm grateful for the updates that have occurred since 2023, and I love SS and see so much potential in it, but dashboards have me feeling like I'm back in 2005 building a Google Geocities webpage.
We have custom colors (but only for dashboards, not for sheets or anything) but still only a small handful of fonts. No line border options for widgets, and no option for an image or design for the background, only solid colors.
The widgets available feel so clunky to use. There's a widget for reports, but not one for sheets, so I'm stuck using the Web Content widget which is not user friendly and doesn't provide enough options for viewing the sheet's data.
@Genevieve P. , any news or updates? Any improvements on their way down the pipeline?
