RM - Same user, multiple potential roles

Within RM, is there a way to categorize a user with different roles/disciplines based on task? We have a couple team members that wear different "hats" depending on the task and project. It would be great if I could role that person up to the correct roles & discipline based on what they are actually doing.

Currently people in Resource Management can only have one role and one discipline.

You can use people custom fields or tags to capture secondary roles, if that helps! Here's more information: Add Custom Fields for People and Projects
