Approval email work around

Working with clients outside of smartsheet, and I want to send them automated approvals. The challenge I am having is the email address that they are receiving the automatic approval from is not from our business name, or specific user. It is a "smartsheet automation" email.

Does anyone have a workaround for this? Any suggestions appreciated.

Hi Jef,

A possible workaround could be to use update request as an alternative method.

Would that work?

Thanks, I gave it a try - but the email received on my test run is sent from "Smartsheet Alerts & Actions <automation@smartsheet.com" still not from my business or the "user in my business".

I am thinking the only work around to this obstacle to sit down with each client and create a new "contact" in their contact library with a false name attached to the above email address.

This update and approval could be so useful if it represented the user sending the information.

I was thinking about the e-mail address that the replies go to.

Great workaround. You could also create a contact file (vcf) and send that to the clients.
