how to link cell attachments to another cell

Hi,

is there a way to link cell attachments to another cell? I am essentially trying to create a BOM below an assembly drawing with each of the part drawings, however the part drawings are already saved elsewhere on Smartsheet, so if I create a new cell with these drawing without linking, it is likely that one of the cells will not be updated if I upload a new version of a drawing. I have tired linking cells normally but this does not seem to include the attachments which I find strange.

I would be happy to create an indent underneath the assembly if need be and create new rows below each assembly and link this way if need be.

Unfortunately, it's not possible now, but it's an excellent idea!

Please submit an Enhancement Request when you have a moment.

Here's a possible workaround or workarounds

You could use a cloud storage service and use URL's instead

Although using a cloud storage service would work in theory, it would mean deleting all of our drawings from smartsheet, uploading them to the cloud and then re-linking them to their original smartsheet cells as well as linking to any new cells. This would be a mammoth task and I don't think we have the manpower.

An update to smartsheet would be amazing,

How is the sheet structured today? Would you need to be able to send different attachments for different things?

Can you describe your process in more detail and maybe share the sheet(s)/copies of the sheet(s) or some screenshots? (Delete/replace any confidential/sensitive information before sharing) That would make it easier to help. (share too, andree@workbold.com)
