Automatic Cell Linking From Blueprint Template

I have an overall sheet that links to information in each project sheet to analyze the data. Instead of doing this manually is there a way to have all the information automatically linked in from new projects when the template is used? This is more than just a specific item (such as the intake sheet) - this would be all 3 columns that I have in another sheet.

What I've done is create a list on each project of the resources, hours, and which portfolio the project is in. This is used for individual charts within those projects. What I want to do though is pull this information into an overall spreadsheet so that we can create charts to view all projects/portfolios at once. Right now I have an overall sheet that we have to manually go in and create cell links to these individual sheets for each project. Is there a way to use the control center blueprint to create links these columns into the main sheet atuomatically?

    HI @Sarah123

Sorry for the long pause. You don't need the auto numbering column for this. Datamesh does the job.

I have Datamesh subscription and I can give you a walkthrough if that helps. Linkedin is the easiest way to reach out to me.

No problem. I actually got it to work. I have the rows from the project copied over to the sheet and then have datamesh doing the work to keep it updated from the report. Thank you for the idea - it's working great!

    Hi @Sarah123

We had this exact similar situation. We ended up using Datamesh.

Step 1 - Create a report in blueprint that reads all rows from all the projects (in our case, it was around 500 rows per project).

Step 2 - Use this report as source in Datamesh. Because report is always updated, Datamesh will be always updated.

Step 3 - Use Datamesh to feed this data into a new sheet (overall spreadsheet in your context).

You will have to buy Datamesh though, but this would be a very stable option. Alternatively, this can also be done using API, but that would be way too complex.

    Thanks

This sounds great Amit! For the datamesh piece - how do I set that up? Does it need an auto numbering column - and if so, how does that work with different sheets? If I have it auto number then every time a new project is created it will use the same numbers and that would cause issues (if I'm thinking through it correctly).

@Amit Wadhwani How do you get create an auto-numbering column in the report so that the datamesh knows what to update? Thanks.
