Would love for auto sort to be a feature on a sheet. I am working on a project now where we put sites in a ranked order based on multiple factors that give us a score, that constantly changes. As the score updates, I have to go in every week and resort the main page. If you would like to speak on this, I would be delighted.
Just here to add a +1 for auto-sorting. There seems to be a lot of support for this feature. Let's do it team!

This auto sort function would be very helpful and save our time.
Really hoping to see this update soon given it's been on the roadmap for almost a year! It seems minor but I know our company would use it on a lot of sheets. Would definitely help avoiding user error when people inevitably forget to resort rows.
@marc4 What programming language is this in? I have another script in Python, that is suppose to auto sort the sheet, but I keep getting the error message below:

Would have to agree, I would think this would be one of the easier things to implement, especially in anything grid based.
That is just a linux shell command using the curl program
It is hard to sell this product to our team when Excel does this important shared spreadsheet work better. Please add auto sort based on at least one column.
Agree this is a basic and CRITICAL functionality. Adding this to an automation would be amazing
If you're looking for a competitive reason to prioritize this feature ... the LACK of auto-sorting is the reason I have switched back to Airtable for more than half my use cases.
My company has an enterprise license for Smartsheet, and I was a member of our Smartsheet council, but the lack of auto-sorting made it unusable for most of my use cases, which relate to managing tasks and content. For me, the free version of Airtable is more useful than the enterprise version of Smartsheet because of that ONE feature.
It wouldn't have to be as easy as Airtable. I would be fine with creating an automation workflow, but there are NO options to keep a sheet sorted.
Adding another vote for auto-sort. Having to manually update the sort feature every time is so tedious. This is already a feature in Notion and Airtable which makes them both much more user friendly.
