Thank you for the answer above. I understand that dynamic view is separate and established dynamic views can be shared with Smartsheet
My question is about how dynamic view permissions will change under the User Subscription Model. Under the USM internal users on free accounts (viewers) cannot edit sheets shared with them. If a "viewer" under the USM logs into Smartsheet to interact with a dynamic view shared with them, can they enter and submit data in the dynamic view? It doesn't specify at the link below or on any of the help pages related to dynamic view.

User Subscription Model and Dynamic View Permissions
Under the User Subscription Model, can internal collaborators designated as viewers (not members or guests), enter data into a dynamic view?
Our group is still on the Legacy Collaborator Model and uses dynamic view to collect data from internal collaborators that share the same domain as our group's plan. These internal collaborators are all on free Smartsheet accounts and our domain is shared because we are a University.
Upon our renewal next year, we are planning on moving to the User Subscription Model, where internal collaborators that share the same domain as our group's plan will need to have licensed accounts (member status) to have commenter+ (editor) permissions. I have been digging through the help files on Smartsheet and also this community, but I have not been able to find a black and white answer to this question.
To anyone that is on the User Subscription Model - can your internal collaborators on the same domain as your plan designated as viewers (not members or guests) submit data to an underlying sheet via dynamic view?

You're more than welcome!
I should have been more clear. I meant that it would be the same regardless of legacy or USM, and anyone, with or without a license, can edit and only need an account. It's an excellent workaround!
Make sense?

Hi,
I hope you're well and safe!
Dynamic View is separate, and no one needs a license to use it (except for the one configuring it).Make sense?
Does that work/help?
I hope that helps!
Be safe, and have a fantastic day!

Thank you, Andree. Can you direct me to where this is documented in Smartsheet's official help pages? If our group is changing from legacy to USM, I need confirmation in writing from Smartsheet that unlicensed users will still be able to submit data to an underlying sheet via dynamic view.

Yes, thank goodness (for now, Workapps and dynamic views arent effected as most of our solutions are built with that approach. Though with the recent rollback to Workapps, if they end Workapps and dynamic views, not sure what we can do,
I do not like the new Member format cause before i person could edit what we want and no have ability to change a column or anything. Now they will have that option will could kill architecture for Members that can mess with deigns.

Jason - I agree with you on people being able to make changes to the structure of sheets and not having the knowledge of the impact.

Don't do the new model if you can help it. We just moved and it's a mess. Smartsheet is calling Members for people that have not been in our account for over a year. They don't own sheets as they are deleted. Also they say Dynamic view is the answer, but we use the Blueprints heavly and guess what does not work with BluePrints, Dynamic view. At this point I don't know what we are going to do. The managment of this new model is too much for my team and the cost is so much higher. Stay with the old model as long as you can.

Hi Charles, thanks for the insights! We are going to move the user subscription model in a few months and yes, I noticed the issue with dynamic view not transferring over when a template/project is copied. Our team is small, only 8 users. We also need to provision accounts for some of our collaborators, but we do not plan on paying for their accounts and hope to limit our collaboration with them to the three-month limit under the new USM. If we can't finish a stage of the project in that amount of time, we will have to move portions of the project out of Smartsheet and use Excel. We are also hoping to mitigate billing issues by moving to a month-to-month plan rather than paying for a yearly contract.
