Copying Alerts/Reminders

I use smartsheet to manage my new client implementations.  Each new client gets a new smartsheet.  The implementations are tough to manage beacuse of all of the different pieces of information and tasks that are needed from different folks, both internal and external, for for each implementation.

Smartsheet has been great for organizing it, but the inability to copy alerts/reminders is a huge hole for me.  The majority of my alerts/reminders are to people in different positions to perform a task once a previous task is completed, or a reminder to send in a missing piece of information.  Setting them up each time we add a new client is a terrible inefficency.

Is there anything that can be done to have this feature added?

Thanks!

John

I also do repetitive set up sharing/reminder/alert tasks in Smartsheet and the ability to have saved sets would increase efficiency and accuracy. Add me to the feature request list!

    Hello John,

I've added your vote to be able to our enhancement request list to be able to copy alerts/reminders to our enhancement request list for our product team to review. We appreciate your input!

Also posted this comment on another thread...

I too would like to keep my alerts when I copy a sheet. In my case, I manage new product launches, so my alert rules will always stay the same. The specific people may change, but the rules don't. Please advise.

    Thanks,

    Mike

Add my vote to this feature as well. Each client requires a new sheet but the reminders/notifications are the same. They require a great deal of time to setup.

This is something we desparately need as well!  I was so dissapointed when I realized that remiminders did not copy from from templates.  It really makes the reminder feature quite useless. I saw that an enhancement request was noted sometime back in 2015.  Frown

Add mine, too! The other option would be to add the Alert function to the workspace level like we have for attachments and comments, but I would prefer the ability to just maintain notifications and alerts when you "save as new".

+1 for this feature. Setting up notifications and reminders for each sheet is very tedious. It would be great if you could save your alerts, and when you create a new sheet, just view your saved alerts and just check off the ones you want to apply to your new sheet.

We are just implementing Smartsheet in our company, and this feature (lack of) is really disapointing.

Also looking for this feature. Alerts not transferring when you copy a sheet is akin to Conditional Formatting not transferring when you copy a sheet: it renders a lot of upfront work in developing a template useless.

    Add my vote too!

This is the single largest drawback to Smartsheet for me. If Alerts could be saved on duplication of a sheet/workspace, we would save HOURS of time. H O U R S.

Add my vote to the list. This would be extremely helpful.

This appears to be there now but email addresses that are not a paid user do not get copied to the template.  That is, the notification gets copied but user receives error: "We created a copy of your sheet, but couldn't copy the notifications"

Further testing suggests that templates do not allow “Alerts & Actions” to have a default setting of allowing “any email address”.

This is a problem because we use role based emails sometimes and these emails will never be smartsheet users.

I'm assuming that Smartsheets did this because they want more paid users. As a compromise, allowing any email in the user's email domain would address the role based email issue.
