Send Dashboard via email - manually and automated workflow

Hello, I agree that this is a very important issue that needs to be resolved. I love using Smartsheets for just about everything that our company does; however this is one thing that is really holding us up.

Please add this feature. Many stakeholders request an emailed status report and dashboards are used as a basis for these reports.

An indirect workaround idea in the meantime - create a "dummy" sheet where you build a bunch of message-only weekly alert/notification automation workflows, one workflow for each report recipient with a customized message listing their dashboard link?

Hi @Courtney S., Great idea! That does help with the automation part and is a great solution when the audience will actually use the link and access the dashboard. I'll give that a shot and see if that addresses the need or at least helps reduce the effort of status reporting. We still have a sizeable audience that truly does need the information put in front of them without having to link to the dashboard and sign into Smartsheet.

Automate PDF to email for Dashboards - YES!

I would love to set up an automated email for a PDF of our executive dashboard. Sending them a link does not do much so being able to email the PDF of the dashboard would be excellent!

Completely agree and understand that executives and senior leadership need the information readily available for their viewing and decision making and often do not click links to get to that information. That is what predicated the initial request. Please enlist the support of as many colleagues as possible to come and "Vote Up" this thread. The more votes we get, the faster we're likely to see it. I would like to have a way to send a Dashboard as a PDF as an attached file, with the frequency I define. In this way, my customer will receive the dashboard directly in the mail, and I can save that file in a box folder at the same time.

Right now, I must go to every dashboard project and export to PDF save it in a box Folder and then send to the customer and team.

Hi @Corey D. ! Thanks for the support! Please encourage all other community members you know to chime in and vote this up if it is a feature they want. I think this would greatly improve the user experience with Smartsheet for those who would receive the automated reports. Clicking on a link and having to sign in and authenticate just to view the data they want to see can be cumbersome, even more so if they are on their mobile devices and don't have the mobile app. I get asked by my leadership team at least once a month when this will be available, so I know this will be well received when we get it. I'm in favor of sending a copy of the dashboard automatically at a certain frequency like you can for reports.
