Document Builder - Generated Document to pdf. or word file

Hello Smartsheet Community,

My team and I have identified Document Builder as an applicable tool to use for how we write up Standard Operating Procedures. We have built out a form that captures the high-level information, which then runs an automation using the submission data to generate a template for the author to then use and complete the write up process with more granular details.

I noticed that the function in Smartsheet used to give me the option of downloaded the generation document as either a pdf. or a MS Word file types. This seems to have been removed. Can anybody provide clarity on this? This is an important function for my team, so that the author can complete the write up process in Word and not needing to have an Adobe license to edit it.

As far as I know, it's never been possible to download anything as a word file, but that would be an excellent addition to Smarsheet features.

That is unfortunate to hear. I could have sworn this was an option for me before, but perhaps I am getting confused on my end when I download the pdf. file myself and have that capability on my own. Regardless, I have put in a suggestion with the Product Feedback intake - hopefully that will get some traction!
