Data Shuttle
Hello
I am new to data shuttle.
My team gets weekly emails in the form of csv files with new equipment that was added for that week. These emails are sent to us every Monday morning. We normally take the new equipment added for that week (copy/paste) into a Smartsheet repository (sheet).
Is there a way to take this information and add it to our smartsheet without copy and paste?

If you are using Data Shuttle, you can take the .csv file from your email and attach it directly to the Smartsheet. Data Shuttle can be set up so that it pulls the most recent attachment as soon as it is attached and outputs all of the .csv data into the Smartsheet.

How do I attach the csv to Data Shuttle? I don't see a way to attach directly to Data Shuttle. Or do I need to add to my sheet first and then use Data Shuttle?

Attach to the sheet first. Then when setting up the Data Shuttle you can select the sheet it is attached to (doesn't even have to be the same sheet the data is going in to), and then just below the dropdown in your screenshot where it says "Name" you would change it to "Most Recent Attachment". Finally on "Run Options" you would set it up to run "On Attachment".

Thanks, Paul. This information gives me a good starting point to navigate through Data Shuttle. Thanks again. 👍️

Paul.
I was able to set up everything fairly well but when "running" Data Shuttle, it limits me to only 64 rows. The source file has 134 rows.
-
That's odd. Can you share screenshots of your Data Shuttle setup?

I was able to narrow it down to its eliminating all duplicates automatically. Not sure why or how as I don't have any expressions or filters set in DS.

It is the setting in the Target section where you are using a key value to match on. It will only grab the first entry for a value if it is repeated so that the output is a unique value on every row (without duplicates).

Hi @Cristian - I agree with Paul, Data Shuttle expects a unique identifier (like a P/N) that won't be repeated twice in the same column. IF that's absolutely not possible and you're just going to have duplicates, you could use the "Replace all Target sheet rows with data from the input file" option to just replace everything in your sheet with the new data - OR if you need to keep the old data there and just want the new stuff to also be added in, you could set up a second sheet as a landing page for the Data Shuttle data and then set up a move rows automation on that sheet to automatically move any rows added over to your first master sheet.
If you have any questions on that, your account team should be able to get you pointed in the right direction or if you have Pro Desk on your account, this is something you could set up a "Connectors, Premium Apps, & Extended functionality" session for!
