Data Shuttle - Update Drop Down List - Alphabetize

I submitted an Enhancement Request for this already but I wanted to ask if maybe I'm doing something wrong or missing a feature?

I have some Data Shuttle workflows set up to update drop down lists. They work but the new entries always end up at the bottom of the list. If someone begins to type what they want to select, it gives them all of the choices alphabetized. However, if you try to browse the list it's not in alphabetical order any longer when things are added to the list. When you have a long list of Client Names, for example, it makes it a pain to look for what you're trying to find.

I try to go into the sheet and fix the order manually once a week but that is tedious. Am I missing something that would provide an easier way to sort these? I guess I could copy-paste them into a Google Sheet and then sort it alphabetically and then copy-paste it back into my drop down list? What a pain...

    Hi @Mike TV,

You're right in pointing that there isn't currently a function within Data Shuttle that allows to sort the dropdown values in the list automatically and this is a good idea for an Enhancement Request. On the other hand, I've been running some testing on my end and I could confirm that DataShuttle respects the order in which the source list is sorted. This would just take an extra step to sort the values in the source file(s) after the lists are updated and before running the Upload Workflow in DataShuttle. If values are sorted alphabetically in the source, this arrangement will be also maintained in the target dropdown column.

I hope that this can be of help.

    Cheers!

    Hello,

In response to @Julio S.'s comment, I found that when sorting rows by a column that has a dropdown, it will sort them in the order that is in the dropdown list. This is such a weird, circular issue because that dropdown list is the one that I am trying to keep updated with data shuttle. So as far as I can tell, there is no way to do this except by updating the dropdown manually.

@Mike TV Hi, can you share the link you requested New Product Idea (Enhancement request)? I'd love to vote on this idea. I'm running similar issue here.
