Cannot select data source for Chart widget?

Pretty sure this is user error on my part but I new to SmartSheet and can't figure it out.

I am trying to add a chart widget to my dashboard that summarizes the number of overdue, in progress, etc. tasks. I am trying to select a Summary report as the source for the chart. When I select the report, the report appears all greyed out and I cannot select a specific range. When I choose Select, it then says a chart cannot be made from my data. Screenshots attached.

What am I doing wrong?

You will need to add a report summary field to generate a count for each section. Charts require the numbers to be already calculated. The chart itself cannot do the counting.
