What is the best process for updating permissions within Control Center?

Options

We've recently implemented Control Center to manage a large number of projects for our team. As PMs join or leave the organization, what is the best process for updating permissions and moving projects from the old PM to the new PM? Then, how is that updated to the WorkApps piece?

    Hi @Joey E

For WorkApps, sharing can be controlled with a contact list on the Intake sheet, but it needs to be there first. See: Control Center and WorkApps permissions

For summary data, this can be edited from the Intake or sheet set-up. Sharing is controlled manually on the workspace or items, which means that you could likely control sharing using Groups in Smartsheet.

There may be some best practices that are associated with how you've set up your current processes; I would recommend booking a Pro Desk session where you can share your screen and show your set-up to receive coaching and advice (since your account is eligible).

Here's the link to booking a session: https://www.smartsheet.com/pro-desk

    Cheers,

    Genevieve

    Thanks Genevieve!

We do have a contact list set up on our intake sheet and that has been working well for us. What I'm trying to figure out is how do update the permissions of a provisioned project if a PM leaves halfway through the project and we need to reassign it. If I were to update the PM in the underlying sheet, it doesn't appear that it gets updated in the WorkApps.

We do have a ProDesk session scheduled as well!

    Thanks again!!

    Hi @Joey E

Thanks for clarifying! Yes, it's separate. You will need to update the actual contact on the intake. I'm glad to hear you have a Pro Desk session booked, I'm sure they'll help to walk you through this!

    Cheers,

    Genevieve
