The recent SSO banner message has raised more questions / chaos for our company than it helped. Other banners also cause confusion. We should have an admin control to turn these on / off globally. A nice to have is a switch by message where we could turn on/off.

Agree. Messaging to all users within the environment should be at the Administrator level.
For those using this as an 'Enterprise' software environment, Smartsheet is a governed system with defined use cases - not a platform where users can freely explore all features. When global announcements are displayed, users often interpret them as applicable to our implementation and reach out with questions, creating additional support overhead.
More admin‑level control over the Announcement bar would help ensure users only see relevant, actionable messages and prevent unnecessary confusion.
