Report Automations Remove Link to Sheets

Hi,

I have an issue and I hope there is a workaround. I have several reports created for different groups of people to view items specific to their needs. Obviously the report is derived from a master sheet. When I send a notification, I send attachments and only attachments. It confuses people when they see the link to the master sheet that they do not have access to.

Question - does anyone know how I can send attachments and not have the link to the sheet displayed?

Hi @Melanie Sanders,

In your Alert Someone automation settings, click on "Customize Message". This gives you the option to select "Message Only". By default the setting is "Link to sheet and all fields".

Hello @Ray Lindstrom. Attachments are sent with the automation. I am trying to remove the link in the message sent with the automation but still include the attachment.

Same here. Also, we use Request an Update workflows to provide web-based forms for updates because we do not want folks accessing the sheet (ever). If they click "Send me a copy of my responses" before submitting the form, they receive an update confirmation with a very prominent link to the sheet. It would be a HUGE benefit for all to make the sheet link optional in all workflows alerts & confirmations. If not, please remove. We can easily add the link when needed.

Frequently notifications are sent to users that do not have sheet access. It would be very useful to have the ability to select specific columns AND turn off the sheet link (that is prominently displayed). The 'MESSAGE ONLY' option works ok if you only have a small number of columns to include AND you aren't sending the attachments and comments. I need the option to specify which columns to send (that includes comments and attachments) and hide the sheet link. Or at least give me the option to position the sheet link at the bottom page (preferably in a small, non-descript font).
