Auto Sequence by Date?

Hello! I am creating a sheet that will house projects that need to be prioritized by date. Although I can sort them myself and number them, is there a way to auto number a column based on the date column? In other words, if I have 10 projects with 10 dates, can Smartsheet apply a value in my "Order" column based on the dates in the "Due Date" column?

How would you want them prioritized? Have you looked into the RANKAVG or RANKEQ functions?
