I have been using Smartsheet for the duration of the summer, but I have prior experience with programs like Excel and several coding languages. I will be using Smartsheet in my role at the City of San Diego to help with data management and analysis. Kristen, City Secretary / Human Resources Director for the City of Shavano Park, Texas. I used Smartsheet at my previous city and brought it to SP. We are always looking for ways to use Smartsheet. Currently our HR department (me) use it for minor HR data tracking (small company with no HRIS) and to share recruiting documents. But as the City Secretary, I use forms to sign up residents for things and to request and track public information. It helps me stay sane and organized. My PD is just now starting to use it.

I would be interested in how other HR departments use it and I'm always wanting to learn more.

I work for a Federal contractor as a Project Manager and contract lead. I have a small team of people who I am working on transitioning over to Smartsheet. So I've been reading, watching and learning everything I can while I try to develop the easiest to use and robust enough to track everything period of performance workspace for my team. Having to move out of what we were using and move into Smartsheet is going to be an unwelcome change but I'm hoping to make the transition as painless as possible.

Hi, I'm Roxanne. I am the Smartsheet administrator for a project management group for the State of New Hampshire. I started out with Smartsheet a few years ago providing consulting using the commercial version. When I started using the Gov version I was not pleased with the number of features that were missing when compared to the commercial version. We are in the process of simplifying our blueprint and making it easier for our users to navigate but it's been a slow adoption. All-in-all I like the tool and what it can do. I like the Community option to ask questions from others as well.

• Where do you work and what’s your department/role?

I work for the State of New Hampshire in the Dept. of Information Technology in the project management group. I am the Smartsheet system administrator and the only Smartsheet person in my group. I manage our Control Center, project management blueprint and portfolio, users, etc.

• How long have you been using Smartsheet or Smartsheet Gov?

I started using Smartsheet in 2020 and did some consulting before moving to my current position using Smartsheet Gov in March of 2023 which was a big adjustment with the lack of features but they have improved a lot since then.

• How are you using Smartsheet or Smartsheet Gov today or planning to in the future?

We have Control Center and a Blueprint of sheets for our project management solution/portfolio.

• What else would you like to learn from your peers in government?

I would like to see what others are using Smartsheet Gov for. I would also like to see ways used to promote using Smartsheet for project management. What problems have been encountered by others using Smartsheet Gov. We've had a lot of problems with automations firing since June and would like to see if others have had the same issue.

I am Sherry Fox, @SherryFox . Last month I just got my 2nd permanent job since 9/11, I had been doing contracts previously. I was introduced to Smartsheet at a previous role using Smartsheet Commercial. And now this role has me using Smartsheet Gov.

I work at Huntington Ingalls Industries - Mission Technologies and my title is Business Process Analyst 3. I have Used Smartsheet Commercial for 3 years, and Smartsheet Gov for 1 month.

My focus with Smartsheet is to work on development and automation. Currently there are many redundancies, meaning the same data is entered by multiple people in multiple locations. I am to remove those duplication of efforts and streamline everything.

I would like to learn if there are any substantial differences between Commercial and Gov that will affect my role.

Hi! I'm Trang. I am an Analyst and PM for a well known IT consulting firm. I have been using Smartsheet for about 9 years. My previous job I was a dedicated Smartsheet consultant architecting and building solutions across one of the largest health plans in the US. With my prior Smartsheet experience, I was also asked to take on the role as the Smartsheet product owner for the entire firm when I was hired in my current position, which I gladly accepted and get the opportunity to spread the knowledge and benefits of the product.

Although we do not have or on a Smartsheet Gov plan, 95% of our contracts are national, state or local government so are bound to the same data security, confidentiality and compliance requirements and standards. The firm uses Smartsheet for traditional project management, but have heard of other types of solutions. I am in the process of creating Smartsheet solutions for Operational Risk Management and PPM.

I would love to learn the end to end governance process people use to best manage data security - from identification, auditing, guardrails or exceptions integrated and why. I'd also love to learn how data security updates are best integrated into the tool as they are released and what types of automations people have set up to help manage the constant data security updates.

While I don’t work directly in government, I’ve had the opportunity to consult with various governmental departments and agencies, helping them build out their infrastructure needs using Smartsheet.

I’ve been using Smartsheet for years, from my time at Smartsheet itself to working across multiple industries, designing tailored solutions that drive efficiency and collaboration. My focus has been on integrating Smartsheet with other systems, optimizing workflows, and ensuring teams have the right tools to make data-driven decisions.

Good time-zone, folks!

My name is Brian Wilson and I work for a critical controls company in Charlotte, North Carolina. A number of our contracts are government and military-related. I manage a significant number of Smartsheet documents for all of our on-going projects. I have only been using Smartsheet for about 9 months now, but would consider myself an advanced user.

We have a significant Smartsheet "Universe" as we call it that ties in our project schedules, labor forecasting, financial forecasting, individual personnel files for employees, dashboards for customers, etc. All of it organically designed to suit our specific needs and the data we need to gather and communicate to our customer. We have also tied in some of our external document sources, such as SharePoint and Bluebeam.

I would love to see some of the more advanced modules and how they work. Currently, we do not have any of the extra business ad-ons, so I can't speak to their function. We reviewed a few, but they were not appropriate for what we are trying to do with our data.
