Can you create update requests with Current User filter capability?

Good morning. We are trying to send a workflow update request to an employee that will then update a tracking sheet — however, we do not want to share the sheet with the recipient, nor do we want the recipient to be able to select the Go To Sheet link at the bottom of the update form (which I understand cannot be removed). What is the best way to achieve this, if it is possible?

ok, if your company already pays for Dynamic View, then it will do the job.

You may have to pay for additional views/configurations, as DV usually has a limited number of views/configurations.

is it possible, that there is a warning in your workflow that not all recipients may get update requests?

In this case a message is sent to the recipient about the change in say "sheet x" and there is a link to this sheet in the message. Anyway, even clicking on that link does not allow this person to open and see the sheet.

Update requests do not require the recipient to have the sheet shared to them. And usually there is no link to the sheet where the request is coming from.

Maybe a screenshot of your workflow could help.

I had to respond again because we learned today that WorkApps will not support our non-licensed users, without purchasing the "collaboration" license — and that's another expensive item for us. I've been playing around with using Dynamic Views as an embedded web link on a dashboard — it looks like with the current user filter it's a good workaround so we don't have to spend more money. So … forms on a dashboard, and automations should hopefully answer all the needs we have. 😊
