Impossible to Choose!
I gravitate towards the grid view as my preferred perspective. Its familiarity and simplicity make it a natural starting point when initiating new projects with clients. By establishing a solid foundation in this view, I am able to expand and explore other perspectives as needed. The release of the Timeline view has been a source of excitement for my director, as it has proven invaluable in effectively roadmaping our projects. Previously, I had to rely on PowerPoint to visualize project timelines, but now, with the Timeline view, I can save a significant amount of time.
When working with intake teams, I have observed a preference for the board view, particularly due to its swimlanes feature. This view facilitates effortless assignment management and enables us to pivot and prioritize tasks fluidly. The kanban-style boards provide a clear understanding of workload distribution and allow for efficient tracking of assignments. On the other hand, my project management customers heavily rely on the Gantt views, often incorporating them into reports and dashboards. The Gantt view serves as a valuable tool for stakeholders, offering a concise and comprehensive overview of project progress and timelines.
Additionally, the Calendar view emerges as a common destination for everyone I collaborate with at some point. It serves as a roadmap, displaying due dates, start dates, go-live dates, and other essential milestones. While the Calendar view is indispensable to our work, there is room for improvement in terms of formatting.
In summary, my preferred view is the grid view, providing a solid starting point for project initiation. The release of the Timeline view has enhanced our ability to effectively roadmap projects. The board view is favored by intake teams, while the Gantt view is heavily relied upon by project management customers. Ultimately, the Calendar view serves as a crucial tool for tracking and visualizing upcoming deadlines and milestones.

View, hmmm good question. I am a developer, so I am not a USER the way most people are. I use some sheets, but primarily I build sheets, templates, reports, etc. While building all of my projects I review each view. I make sure that each of these views can meet and exceed the expectations of the team I am building for. So as I said I consider all views since I am the developer, and must ensure that everyone's favorite view
So while I have my favorites, Grid as a developer to be able to see and analyze all the data.
I need to look at things from the perspective of my Directors. How will they use what I am building for them. Most of the Directors love the Calendar view, and who can blame them? And also, the new TimeLine view has taken off as a major favorite too. They need to see and report on things from a high level.
PMs love the the Card View (like a Kanban board) and the Gantt View.

@Sherry Fox That’s the best view: The ability to build with the end user(s) mindset and insight.

@Dakota Haeffner I know, right?!? I need them all even before I know I need them! 😂

I just created my new profile (at the suggestion of @Genevieve P. ).
My work profile is @SherryFox and
My personal profile is @Sherry Fox
The difference (look closely) is the space between my names! It took me a while to figure out why this showed on personal email rather than my work email.

While exploring some new options I've figured out that the Board view in my case works best for quick and smaller projects. It is also useful as a quick overview of task statuses from a different perspective and it sure helps the others see the project using it as another-their own option of choice. Playing with settings and filters is just an extra here.
I like this one, too.

I prefer @SherryFox , as that is my work profile. It assures that I see all the posts. I don't look at Smartsheet psts that my personal account is tagged in frequently

I keep using the grid view for now. It's simply the fastest and the one that will contain the most information at one glance that you can have so it works best for most of our sheets. But I would love for the filters to be improved on the new timeline view, there is huge potential for some use cases. I already use it in a shared sheet for PTO and public holidays.

I mostly use grid view. I collect a lot of data from forms and this is the best way for me to view it.

I prefer grid view but learning to fall in love with Board View. It reminds me a lot of my Trello days where I could see a snapshot of tasks based on status. Love it!
-
This is a tough question as all are great. I am very familiar with the Grid view as I find it be my most comfortable view of the overall data.
-
Grid view is my go-to view for building and editing. I often switch to other views for various reasons and to visualize and review the data in a different way.
-
I guess since the team liked the timeline view, I should explore it's functions more.
Great visualization, especially when presenting the tasks per team member. Nice option.

I prefer a combination of Grid View and Calendar View. The Calendar lets me see at a high-level what Marketing Campaigns we have coming up over the next month, quarter, and year. However, our campaigns are setup with detailed tasks we manage via the Grid View which we pull into reporting based on the assigned user. chef's kiss 💖
