Remove external users

I am looking for the easiest most efficient way to remove external users that were invited to Smartsheets.

I have projects that last anywhere from 4months to 2 years and contractors come and go at different stages. I would like to remove them or deactivate or whatever is available. I'd like them gone from my contact list and I want the off any notifications, but sometimes do not know all the sheets they may be on. There are sometimes that they are part of contractor so their email does not change, but they are no longer on our account.

Looking for an efficient way to ensure that they do not still have access to the data they are no longer needing access to.

TIA - sorry if this repeats another question submitted, but could not really find what I was looking for.

Hi @Tammy Luther - When we have contractors roll off, we go to User Management and use the "Revoke Access to Items" command, here's a screenshot. You'll be prompted for their email address. Note this does NOT work as expected if the contractor is/was a Smartsheet employee. For that we have found you need to open a support ticket, or ask your Smartsheet lead consultant to help with the final exit from your account.

    Hope this helps!

    Scott,

I'm not seeing an option for User Management.
Is there some place specific I should be able to find it?

Hi @Tammy Luther - You must be an Admin for your account. Here are two screenshots:

First, click your profile icon (bottom left) and select User Management or Admin Center

These days, both will take you to admin.smartsheet.com

In the Admin Center screen, go to the top left, click the three-line MENU icon, and select User Management:

Thanks - you've confirmed my suspicion … I do not have access to the admin of our account. I'll have to find out who does. At least you've given me steps to clean this up. thanks
